  6. Starting with a small cycle-repairing business, in 1910 he designed a car that could be produced cheaply, and built up Morris Motors Ltd at Cowley, Oxford. Baronet 1929, Baron 1934, Viscount 1938. He endowed Nuffield College, Oxford, 1937 and the Nuffield Foundation 1943.
